I have always loved art. If I wasn’t doing something physical, I was making, painting, or drawing. Growing up, my bedroom looked like an alleyway – I drew, painted, and otherwise covered all four walls with graffiti art of every kind.
While raising two boys in Laguna Beach, I painted murals and decorative finished many of the high-end homes in Orange County. Also, while painting flower pots in Laguna Beach, I was picked up my Smith Hawkins to be in their catalog. I even met my husband while painting a mural for the Ronald McDonald House in the Mission Viejo Hospital – he was painting the hospital!
I appreciate the endless potential of blending colors, shapes, marks and textures – I love juxtaposition in most things, especially art, and the challenge when you find your self in that place, asking yourself, “what do I do next?” – where you discover the satisfaction of making art your own.
